Flamenco Guitar, Song & Dance: CD Release of Te Canto Colores

Composer & Flamenco guitarist David Scott McLean, emerges again as a creative force with his album “Te Canto Colores”, recorded with a talented cast of Oakland-based Flamenco artists.

David McLean has has shared the stage with many hundreds of flamenco artists from all over the world, from beginners to the world-renowned.He is the principle guitarist for the flamenco company AguaClara Flamenco, which was recently commissioned to perform in the Bay Area’s Ethnic Dance Festival’s 40th year anniversary at the War Memorial Opera House. He has been the musical director and composer for various theater productions and played in a TBA award-winning ensemble for the critically acclaimed musical “Love Sick”. In 2007 David released his 1st flamenco album of originals titled, “Found in Spain”. Jazz Guitar Magazine wrote of his music: “a unique sculpture of chord color, raw guts, and effusive linear tapestries.”It is David’s hope to help sustain the important flamenco traditions of Andalucia while still following those creative impulses, the “noodling around” that all artists must do.
