Talent recognizes talent! A star studded group playing with a new star!
Camille appeared with jazz luminary Marcus Shelby at a recent show at the Sound Room and now she is back as the band leader.
Camille Kerani is a 21-year old saxophonist, composer, and recording artist from the Bay Area. A versatile musician, she has performed with artists ranging from rapper Larry June to South African pianist Nduduzo Makhathini, and is currently on tour with Thee Sacred Souls as a part of their horn section. Camille is a senior at the University of California, Los Angeles, and is in the process of recording her debut album.
In Los Angeles she has worked with Javier Santiago. Santiago is an alumnus of the Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz Performance at UCLA and The Brubeck Institute Fellowship Program. He was a finalist in the American Jazz Pianist competition in 2015, a recipient of the 2016 McKnight Fellowship for Musicians, and was selected to participate in the 14th Annual Betty Carter Jazz Ahead program in 2011.
